I went to the Jet PropulsionLaboratory today, which is also known as the JPL. We got a private tour from one of my Uncle M. and Aunt S.'s friends who works at the JPL. We saw life size models of Curiosity and of the twins(Spirit and Opportunity). The person that gave us the tour worked on the Gailieo and Saturn Five projects. He has worked at the JPL for 35 years. Can you believe it? I can because he has done some amazing things. Like , did you know that the Galileo main satellite that sends picture back to earth got stuck? Well it did and he help make the back up satilite work. They were supposed to have 10,000 photos but they only got 2,000 pictures cause of the satilite malfunction. We also got to see the Galileo model/ real thing. I got to see real scientists test different kinds equipment with different kinds of tools. And we got to have lunch with a lot of scientists. I ate a huge sandwich with a a whole lot of roast beef!!!!!! Our tour guide took us to an area that you needed a card to get into. And that was the mission control room for all the satilites and rovers.
This is me and my Uncle M before the JPL.
