Spring Break Reading

I found this in my drafts!!

......

Hello! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been busy with school. Oh and I moved again! It has been a crazy year for me.

Well, anyways this spring break I am reading a collection of books about or relating to US History.

Well, except for one. I caved and got that one too. I put them in chronological order from the right to the left. They are all good books and I recommend them to all of you.

I'll describe some of them to you!!!

The Black Pearl (Scott O'Dell)-- Is a book about the coming of age of a son of a peal dealer in the Baja Peninsula. ( I read this was first because it was short and I could read it in one night [and I did])

The Witch of Blackbird Pond (Elizabeth George Speare)-- This book is set in the late 17th century of colonial Connecticut. It is about the life of Katherine(Kit) Tyler when her grandfather dies and she is forced to go to her aunt and uncle without telling them first.

Johnny Tremain (Esther Forbes)-- This book is set in Revolutionary America. You see revolutionary Boston through the eyes of Johnny Tremain.

Streams to the River, River to the Sea(Scott O'Dell)- This book is set during the westward expansion. You follow Sacajawea around as she lives her life. It gives you insight on not only the Natives' lives but the explorers' as well.

Island of the Blue Dolphins(Scott O'Dell)-This book is a classic. You follow a young girl as she is stranded on a island near the Californian coast.
****This summer we are going to try and go and see her grave side !

All these books were amazing!! Sadly I didn't get to read The Six because someone else had a hold on it in the library.

Sparkle Fiddlebooks!!

P.S. The laminated covers on the library books sparkle in the sunlight!
