Number the Stars

Number the Stars
By: Lois Lowry

This book definitely deserves its Newbery award. It's a really good book about the Nazi soldiers trying to relocate the Jews of Denmark. Denmark fights back by secretly taking them to Sweden. So, you follow Annemarie and her family trying to save the Rosens from the Nazi soldiers. Annemarie and Ellen are my favorite characters because they show great perseverance through the time of the German army.

Most kids will have the interest to read the book in grades 3 and up. But, I think that most 10 year olds will like the book because it is about two ten year old best friends. It has a reading level of 5.3. It is a historical fiction book and is very much like a classic. It is a very good book. This book sure does sparkle.

Banana Donuts

I have a baby cakes 3 in 1 machine. It makes cupcakes/muffins, donuts, and donut holes/cake pops.

You can convert regular recipes to a bunch of mini ones. And they are quite tasty if I do say so myself.

So Yesterday I made these Banana Donuts. They were really good.

It longer to prepare than I was used to though.  Here is the recipe I used :

Banana Bread Donuts
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons mild oil (or melted coconut oil)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup mashed ripe banana (1-2 small bananas)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 Tablespoon sour cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup + 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
Measure and mix dry ingredients in a small bowl
Measure and mix wet ingredients (I used a medium measuring cup/bowl)
Add wet to dry ingredients and mix until combined, but don't over-mix
Use a rounded Tablespoon to fill donut wells in Babycakes donut maker
Bake for four minutes
This recipe makes about 21 mini donuts.

Hope you will enjoy them!!

Red Robin....Yum!!!!

So far as of this week Red Robin has had the best service and food. And our server sparkled (on the inside and on her outside). This is me and our server Cassidy, who wore the best sparkly eye shadow ever!!

         Here's the kids menu:

Even though I didn't eat the kids menu I'll still show it.
Be sure to ask for bottomless fries as an appetizer...YUM! Their Ranch is pretty good for dipping.

I did eat half of a croissant sandwich and a cup of French Onion Soup.

The food was amazing and I want to go back to the restaurant as soon as possible and have another night like this.

Note: This place did take a while to get seated because it was super busy on a Friday.

Red Robin does sparkle!!!!!!!!

The Macaroni Grill

Well, there is nothing much to say about The Macaroni Grill besides never go there if the manager is cooking because only a few things will not be burnt or under cooked.

    Here is our food :

That is all we could take pictures of before they took the food away. And it is the best looking food we got to have a picture of.
The service was terrible for kids and any adult. It was so slow!!! And practically no one was there.
And that is all I care to say.

I hope that this place is able to sparkle.

Puppies Rule

The Mysterious Benedict Society

Book Review: The Mysterious Benedict Society

By: Trenton Lee Stewart

This is the first book in a series of 5 books. If you want a lot of mystery this book has it all!! There are lots of story lines and character development. My favorite part of the story was when they all had a good time and got to see people they loved or wanted. My least favorite part was when they went to the school. I probably will continue the series because I personally love mystery and solving it along with the characters. My favorite character was Reynie because he was the character you start out with and is a good leader and friend. Hope you enjoy this book and the rest of the series.
